I can outline a note not in a table, is it possible to outline a note inside a table? I would like to have a circle around a number...possible?  Workaround?

Create your table as desired then draw a circle using SHAPES and position it over the table as necessary.

thanks... that will "work", but I'm hoping for something a little more permanent. Might have to do for now.

If you are dealing with a small number, you could copy and paste something from this list. Unicode Circled Numbers ① ❷ ⓷ ALT Codes for Circled Numbers (lennyfacecopypaste.com)

You can also create and use any sort of symbol, speed note, etc. in a table. Try setting up the common numbers or whatever you want to use typically as one of those items and import them to the table by clicking on the toilet symbol in the top menu ribbon and going to wherever you have them saved.

Mark - that one I've tried...unfortunately can't have a symbol and text in the same table cell  :(

There also isn't an ability to scale any of the symbols within a table so it is kind of a limiting feature that I find it mostly useful for custom Electrical Schedules where the symbols are mostly uniform.

You would have to make the whole content of the cell a symbol or speed note, etc. But, yes, there are limitations.

I just created an opening schedule (table) and clicked on a cell and then chose bold face for that cell.  It worked.  Would this do what you are needing?  You can also choose an entirely different font for that single cell.

Adding to Tim's idea you could download a font to display the circled numbers for a single column. I tried numberpile font and it seemed to work fine although the map the provide to show which letters correspond to which numbers isn't accurate for me. So you may have to search to find the number you are looking for.

Edit- actually it works fine. I wasn't paying attention to the capitalization.
