I have a client who wants a couple small roofs held up with cables as shown in the attached. Can anyone give me an idea how to model the cables in SoftPlan?

How to Model Roof Cables

I would recommend using a model from the 3D warehouse as well since you can get the smaller details on the cable connections opposed to a beam inside SoftPlan (I try to go for as much detail as possible for rendering), but again there are multiple ways to achieve the same goal and I think SoftPlan has an easy process of importing Sketchup Models. You can also use the Brace function inside SoftPlan and scale it down to cable size and use solids to mimic the connection plates.

I use beams set to the right diameter with some solid cubes, polygons, or whatever makes it look decent for initial concepts. If we are going to final I will model something in SketchUp or do some details that show it better.

I used log beams and cubes in this example. The symbol is fine but if you need control over cable angle the symbol isn't the solution.
