I'm looking for a recomidation for a good web site for free or for fee textures for 3D renderings. Im looking to add some leather textures for sofas and found a site. I purchased the texture and before I started to download the file I  noticed the file size was 1.33MB. This seems to be a very large file size for a simple seamless leather texture. Any thoughts?

It seems good to me a high resolution image can be very large

Is this a zip file or jpg?

Sometimes textures come in packs so there may be three or more samples of the same material and also very high end textures might come with alpha, hieght and light maps

Large textures are used to avoid tiling problems

Try these:

cgtextures.com

And especially for seamless leather:

Thank you Keith! I'll look at these asap. and thank you Chris as I do have problems with my hard wood floor looking like a repeating tile. Assuming that is what you mean by tiling problems. I almost avoid hardwood flooring because the renderings just dont appear to be random laid flooring. The repeating pattern annoys me. :)

Me too, I try to find pictures that cover as many square feet as I can.
