Hi All,

I apologize for not knowing the proper term (if there is one), but I'm looking to create a gable with a longer overhang toward the peak than at the eaves. I do this by making the entire gable overhang 3' and cutting a hole on each side 1' deep, creating a 2' overhang. My problem is it makes bird boxes, even when "plain gable corners" is selected.

Does anyone have a solution for this? Or an entirely different way of going about it?

Thanks,

Derk

Did you set the sides to plan gable corners as well? Or just the gable end? Set the sides as well and see if they go away.

Erase the holes and set the roof back to your desired overhang.

Then draw beams raised to a width and height that will give you proportion you are looking for.

Add another roof section to those beams and adjust the width and height of the beams if needed to get what you want.

You can then edit the new roof to have plain gable corners, edit the eaves to not show soffits and edit the gable to not show gable end created by roof.

Lastly edit the beams and uncheck extract in model so they are not visible.
