Hello,

Can't seem to get my PDF line thickness smaller than the 0.10 thickness.

I have in the past had my paint lines set to .05 and gray as opposed to black. Version 2014 is ok but 2022 seems to have trouble.

The shade output is good but the line thickness is still 0.10

Tried pretty much everything!

Thanks

Even if you change it to .05? You may have to override it in the layer properties. There are boxes for "use items linetype/color/etc..." so you may have to try that

Appreciate the insight! Still no luck. Are you using 2022?

Even the sample drawings provided by softplan still show .10 line thickness when I make a PDF. Everything set to .05 in the pen thickness settings.

Cheers,

Dean

Has anyone else had this issue? Seems like version 2022 pdf is broken! Can't go lower than the 0.10 line thickness.

Thanks

Dean - I've been having a lot of issues with the lineweghts - both in terms of the viewing and the plotting.  It seems hit or miss to me at times.

Yes thanks. I have passed it along to Tech Support and they agree with the problem.

Hopefully will rectify in the next patch.

Agree with Dean unable to achieve .05.  None of my work uses smaller then .10 so never explored this issue.

That's interesting. Are you referring to the paint hatches in these photos? I use .05 for mine and haven't noticed a difference. But I haven't really looked that closely either.

Yes, if you look at the "shake" paint in 2014 its .05 and in 2022 its .10 even though it's set to .05

The first one is 2014 version and second is 2022

Thanks

In the meantime you can change the pen for paint to a medium gray color at .10

I've got some brick and siding set at .05 and light grey, and they print the same in 2022 as they have in previous versions. Try changing the color??

My settings are, under pen setup, #15 is set to grey and .05.

I put all paint patterns (brick, siding, etc) on #15 (right click & edit, set it appropriately) and make sure that in my layers box, that "use items color" is checked for the paint layer.

I've been trying different combinations, and I've gotten SOME variation now.  But I really need to dig down into some of the settings - it does not seem like system settings are changing the printing - even on a new project once I create it.

Jon Davis, I'm going to try your specific setting on one project and see what I get.

Yes the color can be changed but I can't get the line thickness below .10

I have not heard back from tech support!

.05 doesn't even show on drafting standards charts for fine line thickness so doubtful you'll raise software interest.

I just tried V2020 and still not able to achieve .05mm, nothing is broke Dean, its just not available.  I'm unsure of v14 considering its extremely old, not serviced or rarely used.  Get used to .1mm being the finest you're going to achieve or put in a suggestion to reduce minimum to .05

That’s strange that they have .1mm which is (0.00393701) and not be able to do .05

No worries! I certainly can live without it but definitely liked having that feature. (It was in my old version 2014) not v14 which is quite older.

More so just looking at complex elevations in pdf format with the paint areas being a smaller line thickness than the windows, railing, etc.

It gave better contrast IMO.

When printing at 1/4" scale you could see a noticeable difference.

Funny that the option is there (.05) but not executable in the output.

Thanks for looking into it.

Sorry but I'm seeing the smallest pen possible to assign at .10mm.

Please show me .05

You have to type it in manually.

ya, it allows .01mm manual entry also but clearly not reasonable.  i think its safe to say .1mm is the smallest we'll see.
