I've upgraded every 2 yrs since 2012. So I'm very disappointed that the subscription model is the only way to upgrade this year.

as a builder that designs and builds own homes and getting a bit long in the tooth I would like to continue using the current version

even though I don't wish to keep upgrading.

According to the SoftPlan Subscription FAQs

Failure to pay the monthly subscription fee terminates access to the SoftPlan software, all modules, and the SoftPlan+ cloud services.
This is very disappointing. Having paid Approx $18,000 over the years to think if I went to the subscription model that would all be taken away if I stopped paying into the future.
Shame on you Softplan.

Subscription doesnt bother me too much...its the lack of updates.  Where once i was excited about "pools" that has since left b/c it pulled resources from developing more important features and also eliminating bugs.

Neil,

I believe  you are mis-interpreting here.
I have always been told that with a subscription you get all upgrades, etc., but if you stop paying the subscription, the program would default back to the last version you had when you switched to the subscription based  program.

Please verify with SoftPlan for the details though.

Thanks Thomas
Softplans website FAQ states the following. "Failure to pay the monthly subscription fee terminates access to the SoftPlan software, all modules, and the SoftPlan+ cloud services."

Also if one was to start the subscription all projects started in that version would not be able to be run under the previous version if for any reason one couldn't continue with the subs.

I've always kept up with the latest versions but I guess that's the end of the line for me. I just hope that sometime in the future they don't pull the plug and disable my key.

This FAQ is referring to SoftPIan subscriptions for new users not existing users that subscribe to Softplan +. Please reach out to sales and they will walk you through it.
