I agree Tommy, but this is my largest account.  He builds over 200 houses a year and the houses that he wants the insulation plan for are 1.5 to 3million dollars.  He wants insulation around the theater and bathroom and laundry room walls that aren't required by code and while I agree a highlighter would be great, he wants it on the plans so they can't say they didn't get it.    I don't want to do it either.  

This isn't that big of a deal and wouldn't take very long to do. I have actually done something similar several times in the past. In some of these larger homes that are all cut up it really does simplify that portion of it and, thanks to plan sets and layers, it only takes a few minutes to score some good feelings from a client. Time well spent.

That makes perfect sense!
Sometimes you have to give in as to not cut off the hand that feeds you! Totally understandable!

This went from “drawing an insulation plan” to calling out interior sound walls… ;-)

I always call out any walls that you would like insulated for sound.

I believe the extended wall definition includes insulated 2x4 and 2x6 interior partitions ready to go for you. I edit the walls that need changing and then I auto label just to make sure no one misses them… just like you would with your 2x6 plumbing wall.

Thank you David,   I've never called out insulated walls other than on my exterior wall sections.  He wants an entire floorplan page set labeled.  "Insulation plan".  I was looking for an example since I've never done that before.  You mention "auto label",  I'm not familiar with that either.  I will research that.  Sounds like that would also save me some time.  Thanks again.

Thanks Gary,  I was just looking for someone to show me how they've done it.  I think with everyone's advice, I can figure it out.

Just use SoftList mode and use the wide highlighters to indicate insulation type placement.
