Hello all,
I'm fairly new to SP and am trying to create some new garage doors for the company I'm working at. I found a forum from back in 2014 that helped me with the process up until adding the symbol to my library.
I've drawn the opening how I would like, I go to FILE>SYSTEM OPTIONS>SYSTEM LIBRARY.
I select the elevation opening tab where it says "type", go to the location where I want it saved and then I click "ONE STEP" under the ADD SYMBOL box.
I follow the prompt by drawing a box around my Elevation Opening.
A new window pops up where I can name it and chose to link it to a 3D symbol. I name it how I would like and press OK.
After that I get a message saying the following
"Symbol Garage Door/Custom/Traditional Shaker-Flat XL 9x8 does not exist on your system. SoftPlan is unable to restore it to your drawing."
I'm super confused and have been looking online for an answer for over an hour. Someone please help. I don't know if I'm missing a step, or am doing something wrong. Do I need to be in a brand new project or new drawing?
Edit: I resolved the issue. Since I am new to the office I had my symbols and 3D Symbols location linked to my co-workers folder on the disk station because they have many more symbols than me. Since I am un able to save and edit anything in there I think that was causing SP to give me that error message. I switched the folders this morning and did a test and it worked out no problem.
