I am looking for input from people that are familiar with both Twinmotion and Lumion. As my yearly income is under $1 000 000.00 I qualify for a free Twinmotion license. The pro version of Lumion on the other hand is $2068.00/year and the standard version is $1033.00/ year. What is the difference between the Twinmotion and Lumion. Also, does the standard Lumion version have enough features for rendering Softplan drawings? Is it worth paying for Lumion when Twinmotion is free? I realize that some of these answers are dependant on just what one is trying to acheive, but I would be interested in your thoughts, not just "I like Lumion", or "I like Twinmotion", but how do they actually compare.

Twinmotion Versus Lumion

I bet there are some things that work better in Lumion, but I have used Twinmotion for the few jobs where people want better renderings. What I have done people seem to like. There is a reality of learning the software and how best to capitalize on it that I have not done. Maybe my opinion would change if I spent more time on higher quality renderings. Most people do not want to spend extra money for me to render their projects, so I don't often justify the time. Someday maybe I will spend more time digging into all the programs can do, but it has not been a huge request.

Thank you for the responses. Is there anyone that has used both programs and can give us an actual comparison of the 2?
I have been using Twinmotion, but have a challenge when I have modelled specific finishes in SoftPlan and when I export to Sketchup and import into Twinmotion, I have a real challenge keeping the colors accurate.

That is a really challenging comparison.
I cannot attest for TM....but the customer service at Lumion is some of the best I have received. They will teach and help you in every way possible....from computer recommendations to how a normal map works.
If money at all is in question I would say stay with TM. You will be stuck with a yearly sub fee with Lumion. In american dollars it is $1499 per year....if you buy three at a time there may be some savings if offered at that time.

I just finally got a PC that's upgraded and can use some of these programs, and I'm wanting to try TwinMotion out, but I noticed when I exported a model (I tried sketchup, lumion, and 3ds and had different versions of the same problem with all of them), I'd have Z-fighting on all of my interior trim, missing textures, and some other similar issues... Does anybody know if anyone's made a tutorial on getting good results from SoftPlan exporting to TwinMotion? I'm trying to test if my work would have a use for a dedicated renderer.
Thanks all!
