I have installed on a floor plan that I have used before; however when I generate the elevation it does not show the grilles.  When I click on edit on the floor plan the view of the window (both 3D and Elevation) show the grilles.  And when I click on the tab for the grille, it is checked but there is no indication as to how many there are (horizontal or vertical).  I have clicked off the check mark and re checked it but that has not helped either.  I also check all my extraction settings and they are set to show grille also.  Not sure what I am missing here.  Any suggestions?Screenshot (1).png

Is that a custom window? If so, when you create it with a grille pattern, I believe you only have the option to turn it on or off.

No it isnt.  In fact it is my normal standard windows that I have been using for years.  Only difference is that I had switched computers (re-installing 2014) after having done about 9 months with 2016.  But I did use these windows on a project about a month or two ago and they worked fine.  Not sure if I changed some setting somehow.

What window is it? Is it one of SoftPlan's standard selections. I'd like to try and replicate the problem.

Is it the only one of it's type on the drawing? Are any others showing the same behaviour? Have you tried deleting it and re-inserting the same window in the same location?

It is not a Softplans standard but one that I created from the standard window.  It is happening on all my windows.  However, when I do a 3D textured view all grilles show.  When I switch to visible line they disappear.

I also just tried to add a standard window (from SoftPlan) to see if it was the window.  However it does the same with the standard window.  And with standard window it does show that the grille is checked and says that it is 1 horizontal and 2 vertical but again none showing

I have no idea Jeff. I'd contact tech support. Seems like a glitch rather than a configuration thing.

while in softview,

click on "OPTIONS" tab at very top

than click on "material" in the ribbon.

than under "select material" at the top left

clikc the + sign to the left of "building"

and than the + sign to left of "openings"

and than the plus sign in front of the type of window your having the problem with

and than the + sign in front of the exact window name and than make

sure the "display" box is checked to the left of "glazing style"

NOTE:

i played with it again and i had the same issue of the grills not showing after

editing it a few times.

to get it to work again,  i had to "DELETE" the window and re-insert the window.

looks like it might be an issue with grills.

this was in my v2016 (latest update)  i've never had that issue before since v10.

Thanks Randy.  I think you are correct with the grills being an issue in the program.  I tried your above suggestions but no luck.  However they are now showing in all the other SoftView view (wire, watercolor, textured, sketch) except for Visible.  Or in this case I should call it not visible, :-)

Okay, so I have been doing this for about 10 years and I never noticed this.  Here is the answer from Tech

The grilles seem to be displaying in the attached project when a 3D Elevation view is open, but due to the lighting, they may be difficult to see. Once the 3D Elevation view is saved as a SoftPlan drawing, the grilles should be visible.

I guess I need to get off auto-pilot more often.  :P

Try increasing the grille width and see it that makes a difference. Default is ½" try increasing that to ¾" or even a full inch.
