Hey,

Im new to the SP program, when applying the auto roof option to my structure, I am left with only the plywood sheeting and shingles on my material list. Is there a way to find the number of rafters (2x4, 2x6, 2x8) for said roof? there seems to be no structural lumber included in the list, this being one of the main reasons i purchased a program with material list ability is quite frustrating. any  ideas?

any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Clayton, I suspect that you just drew the roof.  You have to draw the rafters and/or trusses seperately.

hello ,

So auto roof should be selected after drawing rafters or before? im also not sure where the option for drawing or adding roofing structure can be found other than the auto roof option.

Thanks again Dennis!

Auto Roof first, and then add the roof structure. In Roof Mode, there is a section where you can add roof framing.

Clayton Auto stick frame is the easiest and fastest way to just frame the roof. I would suggest framing the roof using the same members you would use when physically framing the roof

in your part of the country according to roof loads etc. When framed accurately the softlist material takeoff will have accurate value for pricing. Roof may take a little longer to 'frame' but

worth the time spent.
