Plan Set users only.

 

Added a drawing to a plan set sheet.

Edit, rotate 90 degrees and some text rotates and some does not.

Usually the text that does rotate is 180 to right edge.

 

I generally do not submit trouble like this to tech support until others have the same problem.

Any other Plan Set users having the same issue?

Not sure what this means, Tom. Do you mean parallel to the right edge?

 

However, text should rotate to be read Upright or read from the right. It will never be upside down or read from the left. I haven't noticed it doing anything that I would consider odd or a problem.

If right edge (common Title Block location) is at your belly, text is upside down.

 

To simplify, it would be better if text did not rotate at all. But it does.

User could then control it in drawing. Presently cannot control it in plan set drawing.

 

It would be great if text rotation could be turned off or controlled by user.

Generally this problem happens when importing AutoCAD surveys.

Survey drawings tend to have text at different angles so the bad text is probably never at 90 degree increments.

On a semi related issue ...

 

When plans are rotated on the plan set (say 90° left), a vertical dimension changes from having the text on the left to having the text on the top. Not a big issue. However, the crop view doesn't change, so if the dimension is the outside item on the drawing, the dimension text is cut off by the crop view. A workaround - if you need one - is to draw a construction point outside the dimension and adjust the crop to suit, but it really shouldn't happen, and it should be fixed.

 

Personally, I'd like the crop view to have a couple of foot tolerance all round.
